The use of natural bristles and beechwood is exceptional, we love that each brush is graded, and the finish on the products are well built.

We’re curious to see how the “leather” and copper accent’s durability in 6-12 months time.

A well thought out set, it looks based on our initial impression, each product feels good on the hand, it secured and will do exactly what it’s supposed to .

A little on the higher end but certainly not the most expensive when you’re comparing other wooden and natural fibre set. We’re rating it 4 out of 5 based on comparable products.

INITIAL OBSERVATION:

Can I say wow!, the packaging is great! the Hairy Pony Original Brush set is dressed to impress, the packaging is solid, well presented and has been well thought out.

It highlights what you’re getting in the box and it’s bristle strenghts, On the side there’s a QR CODE on how to care for your brushes and on the other is a QR CODE for the rest of their collection.

I have a friend in manufacturing who once told me about the intricacies and the process of choosing packaging for your product and I have to give kudos to Hairy Pony as A:) they clearly put a lot of effort into their packaging and B:) it probably wasn’t cheap!

But Lets not take away from what’s inside the box as upon opening it i just wanted to play with all the brushes! So let’s see what we got!

WHAT WE LIKED:

Natural Beachwood felt good in the hands
Brushes appear to be solid and won’t fall out easily, Both natural and Synthetic
Brushes - I like how they provided the bristle strength
It has everything I need to get started and I can add on to the collection in the future
copper hoof pick is solid (be careful I kept poking myself)
luxurious and timeless design
handle is made of 2 pieces and the interior is padded so it’s nice and soft
You can get it monogrammed
It’s an Australian Company
Finished wood; Light Varnish on the wood and sanded so it feels smooth in your hands ,

WISH LIST

Full Grain Leather or Coconut “leather” instead of Bonded Leather ( speculated material based on an inflicted damage on the “leather section” maybe one day we’ll rip a whole section off to confirm the actual product used)
Option for a Boar Mane and Tail brush or a Hybrid
it’s stated what kind of “natural fibres are used”

OVERALL:

We loved the Original Brush Kit, as stated it has everything you need to get started, while there’s a lot of alternatives out there this kit adds a touch of luxury in your kit and is sure to be a timeless piece. Based on it’s build quality it looks like it will last for years to come. There isn’t really a lot they can improve on but we’d be amiss to not give a feedback, We’ve added a wish list on what we’d like to see in the future.

Absolutely! I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one today. I’d probably get it engraved next time.
